DORMANT

Sauble Beach is a small town in Ontario located along the Eastern shores of Lake Huron. During the summer months, thousands of people are drawn towards the beach community for its relaxing sandy shores and the abundance of conveniently located restaurants and storefronts. During the winter months, however, you will find the town almost completely deserted. Cottages and businesses are boarded up, the beach is hidden under layers of snow and ice, and the streets sit empty. Dormant explores the juxtaposition of the empty vacation town and the transition into hibernation.
